  • From 1 to 3 April, the 3rd LDC Future Forum in Lusaka, Zambia brought together over 250 participants from more than 50 countries¡ªincluding policymakers, researchers, youth leaders, and development partners¡ªto explore innovative, evidence-based solutions for building resilience in Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

    From high-level dialogues on financing and economic transformation, to thematic sessions on climate-smart agriculture, social protection, and inclusive innovation, the Forum served as a key platform to accelerate the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action (DPOA) and advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Status of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems in the Least Developed Countries 2024

    On September 26, OHRLLS launched the report titled "Status of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems in Least Developed Countries," developed in cooperation with UNDRR and WMO.

    The study was prepared drawing on available data, consultations with least developed countries and development partners, the full United Nations development system, as well as the institutions supporting the Secretary-General¡¯s Early Warnings for All Initiative.

The United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) supports groups of vulnerable countries in the United Nations system. The 44 Least Developed Countries, 32 Landlocked Developing Countries and 39 Small Island Developing States have their own special challenges.
